"The 2016 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard reveals complex aromas of rose hip, red cherry, plum, blood orange and sweet soil. On the palate, it's sappy and medium to full-bodied, structured around fine-grained tannins, with a deep, rich core balanced by tangy acids that linger on the delicately chewy finish." –The Wine Advocate, 92 Points
Notes from Winemaker
Gap’s Crown benefits from unique rocky soils and excellent drainage, leading to fantastic conditions for Pinot Noir.
We picked at 2am to ensure the grapes were naturally cold when it came to the cellar. The fruit was destemmed and underwent a five-day cold-soak prior to fermentation. The wine was then pressed into French oak barrels (25% new) where it stayed for 16 months before being racked and bottled unfiltered in January of 2018.
