Tasting Notes

The dark cherry color of this wine mimics the dark fruit
aromas of ripe plum, boysenberry and blueberry. A tiny hint of white pepper and
whole nutmeg add spice and complexity. The palate is seamless, with a balance
between minerality thanks to diatomaceous soil, and ripe dark fruit creating a
smooth, long finish.

Notes from Winemaker

Rita???s Crown is located in the heart of Sta. Rita Hills,
where it benefits from the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean. Upon
arriving at the winery, the grapes were destemmed and underwent a four-day
cold-soak. After fermentation, the wine was gently pressed and put into French
oak barrels  where it stayed for 17 months before being bottled
unfiltered in January 2016.
