Soil Type: Sta. Lucia Shaly Clay Loam

Tasting Notes

Intense ruby in color, this wine exudes aromas of California
sage and Herbes de Provence.  The entry
is bright, with tart cherry flavors, and a vein of salinity throughout the
mid-palate. The earthiness also develops on the palate, with fine tannins
leading to a long, seamless finish. This wine is elegant yet bold and will
continue to evolve in the cellar.

Notes from Winemaker

Adjacent to Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, La Rinconada
benefits from the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean and lingering fog as
well. At harvest, the grapes were destemmed and underwent a four-day cold-soak
prior to fermentation. The wine was then pressed and racked into French oak
barrels . The wine was bottled unfiltered 18 months later in January
