Tasting Notes

This wine has a beautiful golden straw color, with a nose
bursting with ripe guava, lychee and hints of night-blooming jasmine and lime
blossom. This aromatic wine delivers a refreshing, round mouthfeel with a long,
bright finish. Wonderful concentration adds weight to the palate, while
remaining lively and clear with citrus notes throughout.

Notes from Winemaker

The fruit for our Durell Chardonnay comes from the oldest
Chardonnay section of the vineyard. The grapes were picked at 2 a.m. and driven
to our winery in Santa Barbara, where they were immediately pressed into French
oak barrels (30% new) for primary and malolactic fermentation. After 12 months,
the wine was racked and lightly fined before being put back in barrel and
bottled unfiltered in December 2015.
